Fill your heart with God’s promise of hope
(replace despair).

Despair
A state in which all hope is lost or absent; the feeling that everything is wrong and nothing will turn out well; to be overcome by a sense of futility or defeat.

Hope
A looking forward to in confident expectation of obtainment or fulfillment; to cherish a desire with anticipation; to have confidence; trust.

The Enemy’s Lies
"Look around you, your situation is hopeless! You'd be a fool to put your trust in God's 'promises.' Just accept it… you’re doomed."

God’s Promise
Jer. 29:11, Heb. 11:1, Rom. 15:13, Ps. 130:5
1 Pet. 1:3, Col. 1:27, Eph. 1:18, 1 Cor. 15:19
Rom. 4:18, 19, 20-21, 5:5, Heb. 10:23

Faith in the Enemy’s Lies
As you look at your situation and the chaos surrounding you, and as you listen to the enemy’s lies, you feel desperate and hopelessness. Unfulfilled dreams and expectations serve to reinforce your heavy heart. You conclude that things will never get better.

Faith in God’s Promise
As you “lock in” to God’s promise of hope, your faith is bolstered and your heart is awakened to His good plans and their ultimate manifestations. Even in the midst of “evidence” that suggests defeat, you are able to rise above doom and a foreboding mindset. You become increasingly confident that what He promised is inevitable.
