Full Redemption
< The Soulbyte Superhighway (2 of 7) >
Jesus’ last words as He hung on the cross were, “It is finished” (John 19:30). The Greek word translated “It is finished” is the word, Tetelestai. It was a commercial term meaning paid in full. When a debt was cured a legal document was issued to the debtor with the word Tetelestai (paid in full) stamped on it. God’s Full Redemption for mankind is revealed in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Having fulfilled the law by living a sinless life (Matthew 5:17), Jesus satisfied God's requirement of a perfect life, to give His righteousness to everyone who believes (Colossians 2:14, 2 Corinthians 5:21). His payment on the cross disarmed demonic forces of their legal right to steal, kill, and destroy (Colossians 2:15). He took, into His body, all of our sins/iniquities (Isaiah 53:4, 5). His burial allowed us to be buried with Him through baptism, into His death, so that we could live a new life through His resurrection (Romans 6:3, 4, 8:11). As if all this wasn’t enough, God’s Full Redemption means that all of His promises are “yes and amen” in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
God’s full redemption is revealed in Jesus’:

2. Burial (baptized into His death): Rom. 6:3, 6, Gal. 2:20, 3:27, 1 Pet. 3:21
3. Resurrection (new life): Rom. 6:4, 5, 8:11, Col. 2:12, 3:1-2, Eph. 2:6
